Gregor Corse's £80,000 walks win Pride of Britain award
How did Gregor Corse raise £80,000 for charity?
Gregor Corse, from Kirkwall in Orkney, won Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year at the 2026 Pride of Britain Awards. He has a condition that affects his balance and movement. He aimed to raise £500 by walking loops of his home without his walker, and his challenges have raised about £80,000 for three local charities.
What happened?
Gregor Corse, from Kirkwall in Orkney, won the Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year award at the 2026 Pride of Britain Awards. He was four during his challenges and has just turned five.
Gregor was born with a neurological condition that affects his balance and motor skills. His mother, Iona, says the family still does not have a proper diagnosis.
What did he do?
In February, Gregor began a challenge called “30 loops o’ the hoose”. He walked 30 loops around his home every day for 30 days, without his walker. On the first day he wore his kilt and walked in pouring rain.
His target was £500 for Inclusive Orkney, a charity that runs activities for children with additional support needs. Within days he had raised more than £10,000. By the end, the total was more than £73,000.
In August, he set himself a second challenge. He walked 1.2 miles to nursery on each of the four days a week he attended. That raised a further £7,000 and counting for Clan Cancer Support and Soma’s Light, which supports young people’s mental health in Orkney.
“Doing my walking is making me so happy to raise money for charity,” Gregor said.
Why does it matter?
The money helps three charities that support people in Orkney. It also shows how a small, steady effort can grow when a community gets behind it.
“He is honestly the most inspirational little boy in the world,” Iona said.
