New NHS dental practice opens in Littlehampton

The story in brief

How do I book an NHS appointment at the new Littlehampton dental practice?

A new practice offering NHS dental care, One Smile Dental - Littlehampton, has opened on Beach Road in the town centre. NHS Surrey and Sussex says it has the potential to support about 24,000 patients. It officially opened on 16 October 2026 and is taking online bookings.

What opened?

A new dental practice offering NHS care has opened in Littlehampton, West Sussex. One Smile Dental - Littlehampton is on Beach Road in the town centre. NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB) says it has the potential to support approximately 24,000 patients in the area.

The Care Quality Commission registered the practice on 24 September 2026. It held its official opening on Friday 16 October.

The practice is led by Farha Mohamed, founder and managing director of One Smile Dental, and her business partner, local dentist Amit Patel. A second site in Bognor Regis is due to open later this year.

What does it offer?

Online booking is open through the practice website, which says it is accepting new patients. The practice is also running Bluey-themed sessions to help younger patients feel more comfortable visiting the dentist.

Why does it matter?

Finding an NHS dentist has been hard in many parts of England. The ICB says the opening is part of its dental recovery plan. It says Surrey and Sussex ranks second nationally for growth in the number of adults receiving NHS dental treatment. Practices in its area delivered more than 1.74 million courses of NHS treatment in 2025/26, more than 134,000 above the year before.

The ICB’s chief executive said there is still more to do on access.

Sources & reporting notes

We checked the NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board release of 21 October 2026 and the practice's Care Quality Commission listing. The figure of about 24,000 is potential capacity, not patients registered or seen. The sources do not say how many NHS appointments the practice holds each year or whether every patient group is being accepted. The CQC has registered the practice but has not yet rated it.
